Joel Sommer - Licensed A&P Mechanic
Upon graduation from high school, Joel attended Cincinnati State where he obtained his Associates degree in Aviation Technology in 1998. While he was attending college, Joel began working full-time at Comair as a Line Service Technician. After obtaining his A&P license, Joel continued to work as a floor mechanic for Comair with specialized certification and training in sheet metal and composite work.
In 1999, Joel joined the crew at Executive Jet Management where he held multiple positions such as Lead floor mechanic, Rapid Response technician, and Shift Supervisor. As a rapid response technician Joel flew all over the country trouble-shooting and repairing AOG aircraft.
Joel joins our crew with 13 years of experience in the aviation profession as an A&P mechanic, and he also has 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Controller while working at Delta AirElite. Joel has many certifications including: Cessna citation 560/650 school; P & W JT15D-5D school; Run and Taxi class (qualified on Citation 750, Citation 560XL, Citation 650, Citation 560, Citation 560E, and Falcon 2000); Composite repair school; NDT level 3 school; Forklift training; JLG lift training; 5 Grey Owl human factor classes. Joel also has received 9 AMT awards (ruby, silver, gold, diamond).
